Adam Grant gives us practical selflessness so that we can give as much as we want without worrying if we are being naive, at the same time, know how to make sure that we are preserving ourselves and the ones who are dependent on us.
Give, give… at the same time, it is my income, or it is needed for the ones who are dependent on me. The second one especially seems to work for people who are givers and are not used to selfish scripts.
Tim Sanders had already in 2002 talked about the same thing very convincingly, without any IFs, in his book Love is the killer app.
So good to read these books that reaffirm that business is good not despite being nice, but BECAUSE of being nice.
Anyone who thinks they are being smart by looking for the short term profit, not paying what is due, or calculating every relation, forgets the power of word of mouth, the internet socialism effect, and that they are being very short term clever.
Good to know that in the world of competition, many good ones and successful ones are competing to be more and more compassionate and giving
Sanders gives examples from his own experience.
Adam has much more research and obviously tries to bring in, you thought this, but the truth is this, effect…
end effect… it is good to live as one is… give and be given in the thank you economy (gary vaynerchuk)
